For most people the burning of the Man on Saturday night is the climax of the whole
festival. I was surprised to see that a lot of groups already left Saturday night after
the burn or Sunday morning.
Seeing the Man on fire was very impressive, but what I liked even more was the burning of the Temple of Joy.
Unfortunately, some fool had the stupid idea to release some doves very close to this inferno. I understand and appreciate the symbolic meaning of this act, but I also thought that it was a well-known fact that doves are not very clever birds and panic easily. Sadly, we had to witness how the large part of the released birds got either fried in the heat or killed by the toxic fumes. I certainly hope that whoever had this idea, realizes that it was not a very good one...
