Burning Man 2002 Image Gallery - Image 10

Black Rock City is laid out in a two-thirds circle, somewhat similar to a giant horseshoe about 1.5 miles wide (circa 2.5 km). In the center of this arrangement is the Burning Man statue, surrounded by a huge empty space called the "Playa". The Playa can be used for large-scale art installations or large structures that will be burned at the end of the festival.
At the far horizon of the Playa you can see the Temple of Joy.
